New Logo Concepts

Since July the 1st I've been trading as Adam Wintle Design, it's now nearly November and I've decided its crunch time for a better logo!

Before Adam Wintle Design there was MallmusMedia!, a collaboration between some like-minded web designers and developers - some of the people at Mallmus went seperate ways which meant the MallmusMedia! brand had to be scrapped. Its unfortuate as I quite liked the old logo.

I've been playing around with these following concepts for quite a while and I've been getting feedback from a few friends, lastnight a fellow designer suggested I got all of my Twitter followes to share their opnions; but I thought better yet, I could just get feedback through a blog post.

Thanks for taking time to look through these concepts; as you can see there’s a wide variation of styles with similar elements used throughout – if there’s something you like from one concept and something else from another please let me know what you think is best.

Quite like the last one. What’s the typeface ‘design’ is written in? Liking the ‘G’ :) Number one is pretty bold and would be easy to use in different circumstances.

of them all, id go with 1, its simple and classy imho. 2 is too much like yahoo! for my liking and all others too fussy

Definitely prefer #1. Not sure I like the idea of "A!" or the stylised "A".

Can’t say I particularly like any of them, the trouble being that they don’t mean anything in particular and make a fairly arbitrary decision to focus on ‘A’.

In the name of helpfulness, I like the typeface for ‘Adam Wintle’ in concepts five to eight. I mainly don’t like or ‘get’ the A symbols. You’ve got a medieval theme in some, a pirate theme in others (neither of which reflect your work)… and you should forget anything even remotely resembling ‘A!’ because it’s embarrassingly tweenage.

If you want to sell yourself as an individual, then okay; but I personally would spend time coming up with a more original, hopefully more identifiable conceit, and work towards a singular vision, instead of presenting a range of mediocre options and hoping for the best.

IMO of course!

( I have deliberately chosen not to read the other comments before posting mine)

I would say Concept One by a mile. It looks really sleek and professional, however here is a quick critque of the other designs:

2. I think the weights of the type make the logo a little unbalanced.
3/4/5/6/7. I don’t think the Blackletter/Gothic Scripts quite work with the modern serif faces. Personally I also think that a modern design is more the way to go.
8. My second favourite. Very nice with a traditional, but modern feel.
