Media Reach
Media Reach Advertising are a London based full-service advertising agency who specialise in multicultural marketing and niche brands.
Media Reach's brand and website took a new direction with this redesign; the website's content was expanded and the overall architecture of the site was greatly improved. I undertook the task of providing a solution for the back-end database and also front-end development.
Alongside the visual enhancements I also provided extensive search engine optimisation and also visitor statistic analysis; I continue to work with the Media Reach team to help expand their online presence. Visit Media Reach →
The World of Playing Cards
The World of Playing Cards is the leading online resource for information to collectors and researchers on playing card design, manufacture and history. The website was established in 1997 and now has over 800 pages.
It might not be obvious but most of the world's history can be traced using playing cards, through time playing cards have always been taken to newly discovered lands and historians can follow the movements of man from how card designs have spread. There's a vast wealth of information on many cultures and local history to be learnt through playing cards.
The work for the World of Playing Cards included design as well as back-end PHP and JavaScript programming. In addition to this I extensively analysed visitor statistics to offer insight and improvements for the overall performance of the website and also helped plan future advertising strategies. Since launching the new design the World of Playing Cards has seen a 15% increase in visitors and a 25% increase in pages viewed. Visit the World of Playing Cards →
For the World of Playing Cards I provided a complete back-end database and content management solution using the MODx framework.
Lord Likely
The Astonishing Adventures of Lord Likely are the fictitious journals a Victorian adventurer, filled with eccentric and exciting stories. I was asked to redesign the website earlier this year when the author, Andy Fanton, was picked up by the publishing house Harper Collins and is currently in talks about turning the online adventures into a book.
The web site's redesign was well received by the Lord Likely community, and daily traffic has risen from roughly 200 visitors per day to about 1,000 per day. The redesign has also allowed Andy to expand the site in other directions, giving him flexibility to experiment with new ideas. Visit Lord Likely →
For Lord Likely I provided a complete service of design and development; bearing in mind the well established brand of Lord Likely the trickiest aspect of the project was ensuring the publication retained a high standard. Visit Lord Likely →
Herbal Skateboards
Herbal Skateboards was established in 2006 to nourish the south coast's skateboarding scene; since the launch the brand has expanded and so has the website. The site has evolved over the past three years and has undergone two major designs, the screenshot below is the upcoming third design which is soon to be launched.
The website has an extensive media library, with photos, videos and skate park reviews. The redesign will improve the site's information architecture and also bring together a better social networking experience. Also at this time the current store has been taken offline ready for a completely new store. Visit the current version of Herbal Skateboards →
I've been contracted by Herbal Skateboards for over four years, during this time I have provided creative consultation, a full web design service as well as extensive SEO work. Visit the current version of Herbal Skateboards →
Jet Republic
Jet Republic is a newly launched private airline which will provide its customers with a "five-star luxury hotel in the sky"; the airline launched in September 2008 with the largest order of private jets in history, worth £815m ($1.5bn).
When Jet Republic approached me their current website needed urgent attention, the previous design agency had closed and after some consultation and analysis I undertook the task of repairing the core system of the site, this also involved added some much-needed functionality and improvements to existing front-end areas of the website.
For Jet Republic I provided an extensive analysis and consultation of their website which resulted in a large part of their site's backend system to be rebuilt; for this project we solely used MODx CMS as well as extensive JavaScript work.
Hometown Show
Hometown Show is the alternative country rock band of Matthew Harrison and friends. The website has just launched its second design and the band are preparing to release their first studio album due out on September 8th.
The website takes full advantage of social networking, using Flickr and Vimeo for media storage, as well as being a central hub for the band's Facebook, MySpace and Twitter accounts. The site also has a fully featured store.
For Hometown Show I have provided brand consultation as well as a complete design and development service including a content management system that each member of the band can use to update the blog, photos and videos.
